Eyeliner

  • An eyeliner procedure defines the lash line and enhances your eye shape. The thickness and colour of the liner may vary according to a client’s preference. Pigment is implanted close to the lash line to ensure a natural line.

Eyebrows

  • If you use pencil to define your eyebrows, permanent eyebrows will relieve you of that daily routine. Your eyebrows will last through swimming, aerobic classes, and while you sleep. An eyebrow procedure may take on the appearance of simulated hair strokes or a very light shading of colour underneath existing light or sparse eyebrow hairs.

Lip Liner and Lip Color / Lip Blush

  • A lip liner not only defines the existing lip line, but it will also augment the size of the lip or camouflage many scars, such as a cleft lip. Lip augmentation appears to increase the size and fullness of the natural lip line. Anyone with a loss of natural lip colour because of the aging process will benefit dramatically from this procedure as they will always look like they are wearing lipstick.

  • Corrective Tattooing

Micro-pigmentation is an excellent post procedure for tattooing areolas after breast reconstruction surgery. It is also helpful for hypopigmentation, scars from post-op and burns. A consultation with an experienced certified technician provides a client with information on the cosmetic improvements and benefits of camouflage tattooing available to them. Hair transplant patients would also benefit from cosmetic tattooing to cover scars and to re-pigment the scalp.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who Can Benefit from Permanent Cosmetics?

Most everyone can benefit from this procedure. Permanent make-up is perfect for the active person who has little time to apply make-up, for the athlete who wants to look great before, during and after workouts, and especially for the person who wants to look their best all of the time. PMU is the solution for those allergic to conventional cosmetics, or have poor eyesight and conditions such as tremors or alopecia. Everyone from young to old, to men and women can enjoy the benefits of permanent make-up. PMU is the answer for today’s busy lifestyle.

  • Does the Procedure Hurt?

This may vary according to each individual’s pain threshold, however, topical anesthetics are used to numb the area and minimize discomfort.

  • Is It Safe?

Allergic reactions to permanent cosmetic procedures are extremely rare. The cosmetic pigments are formulated for the face, and disposable sterile needles and surgical gloves are used for each procedure. However, micro-pigmentation is a skin invasive procedure, so it is extremely important to consult an experienced professional technician that uses ONLY Canadian approved pigments.

  • How Long Does Each Procedure Take?

Allowing time for anesthetics to take effect, the average time for the initial visit is about 1-2 hours.

  • How Many Appointments Will Be Necessary?

Six to eight weeks after the initial application, a second procedure is vital to perfect color and shape. This visit does not require as much time as the initial procedure.

  • What If You Want to Change the Colour?

Traditional make-up can be applied directly over the Permanent make-up to enhance or create a more dramatic look. Colour neutralizers can also be added to original colour implant to adjust or enhance colour.

A variety of factors influence the longevity of Permanent Cosmetics. Ultra-violet exposure from sun or tanning booths, various drugs and excessively dry skin are all factors that may affect permanent cosmetics. Alpha-hydroxy, Retin-A, and glycolic acid must be kept away from treated areas. These substances slough away top layers of the skin and eventually the layer of skin that the pigment has been implanted into. Sunblock on eyebrows, sunglasses for eyeliner, and SPF on lips will greatly prolong the effective life of these procedures.

What You Should Know

Colours will appear darker immediately following the procedure and for the first few days, but then lighten to a completely natural look during the following few weeks. Pigment colours can be, either soft and natural looking, or vibrant and dramatic. Permanent make-up should not be considered a total make-up replacement. As we age and styles change, it is best to subtly enhance your features so that you may look your best, but still allowing you to apply regular cosmetics over your permanent make-up if a more dramatic look is desired. If you require a lip procedure and you are prone to fever blisters, please consult your GP for prescribed oral medication to prevent a breakout.
